"The new system we are studying will be primarily designed to establish enhanced rules and regulations," explained Dr. Osama Al Ali, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company, "This new system will be transparent and standardised among all aeronautics partners." Bahrain Airport Company plans to apply the new system to all airlines regardless of size or category, and hopes it will achieve a higher level of compliance between the Airport and its partners. They will also introduce an "Airport Use Agreement", designed in order to effectively regulate the facilities and services offered to airline companies. Dr. Osama added, "We are confident that the new scheme will create a transparent business environment for our partner airlines. We have been working closely with our legal consultants at Trowers & Hamlins who have reviewed the current setup and provided us with references from other airports from around the globe. In addition, they are reviewing the prices to be aligned with the market range. This is indeed a necessary step to enhance the Airport's efficiency." Bahrain Airport Company is responsible for managing and operating Bahrain International Airport in line with the Company's strategy. The Company plans to improve the Airport's infrastructure and financial performance dramatically and make it a major contributor to the economy. The plans include building extra capacity and the utilisation of state-of-the-art information and communication technology. The Company will also provide additional facilities for VIPs, a new general aviation terminal, new commercial facilities, as well as hotels, conference centres, retail and recreational facilities. |
